Stand up For President Bush’s Economic Record!

DO YOU REMEMBER JANUARY 3, 2007, (the day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007)?

The 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets, was the lowest in five years and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending

George-W-Bush This tells the story, of why Bush was not so bad at the end of his term – his economic record is actually very good despite the claims otherwise, if one bothers to check the facts.

Don’t just skim over this, it’s not very long, read it slowly and let it sink in. If in doubt, check it out (The links are below)!!!

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is “Bush’s Fault”, think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress.

At the time: The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77 (View it by Clicking here: www.the-privateer.com/chart/dow-long.html)

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%(See GDP Data by clicking here www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0104575.html.

The Unemployment rate was 4.6% (See the rate and its history by clicking here: http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember the day…

January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment… to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie – starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie? OBAMA and the Democrat Congress.

So when someone tries to blame President Bush:

“REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007…. THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!”

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.(Actually, the White House proposes and the Congress disposes and amends and modifies and changes and adds and subtracts to its own will, and then the President approves or not.)

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

Where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is “I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on to someone who cares about the truth!

Pass it on!!!

Ed Notes:
1. I received most of this article by email from a friend who wishes to remain anonymous, as does his friend from Texas who sent it to him. There probably is a third party source, but I haven’t found him or her, yet.

I found links to this very same same story:
A. One with all sorts of non sequitur comments on a gay website at: www.datalounge.com/cgi-bin/iowa/ajax.html?t=11590265#page:showThread,11590265. Someone’s mother had posted it on facebook. You could do that, too!

B. It’s also on a conservative website at: http://almtnman.blogspot.com/2010/09/remember-january-3rd-2007-day-democrats.html.

C. Also found a September blogspot post with the article at: http://talkwisdom.blogspot.com/2012/02/do-you-remember-january-3-2007.html

2. The key points above are all true. They are verifiable and links to some of the important sources for details are included above. Click and check for yourself.

3. Why haven’t the major players in the present campaigns made these points public and stop the “Bush Bashing”. I am not sure; there could be many reasons. It certainly is not because they are false. They are true, if you check!

4. My main suspicions are (a) no one bothers to check – the comments on the blog sites seem to confirm this, or (b) the “smart” campaigners know that politics tends to gloss over truth, like facts they do not like or understand, especially if they are dull and dreary to most of the media. The latter seems to prefer glitz and other puffery that they can run in 30 second sound bites or (c) some other excuse, like possibly it originated from a right-wing TV or Radio commentator who has already been demonized in the media (thus everything he or she says is categorically untrue or untrusted and therefore not worth fact checking). But, if you let third parties do your fact checking for you……
